The Post Hotel

For our 10th wedding anniversary we really wanted to celebrate in Lake Louise. Ideally it would have been at Deer Lodge where our wedding was, but since it’s closed for a while, we had to ‘settle’ for The Post.

This property is stunning. It’s a perfect mix of rustic mountain charm and modern luxury. We splurged and got a family suite for a bit more space to relax. It had a cozy sitting area with a wood burning fireplace, a day bed (so our kiddo could join us for one of the two nights), a separate bedroom with a king size bed, and a large bathroom with a whirlpool bathtub. They even gifted us some champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary - a lovely surprise when we arrived.

The highlight of our stay was the culinary journey in the Dining Room. The food was phenomenal - a four course menu with lots of options to choose from and they accommodated my dairy issues without a problem. We had a lovely chat with the sommelier to help us pick a bottle of wine - with over 3,000 to choose from, they have one of the most extensive wine lists in the country.

When our son joined us the next night, we spent a bunch of time in the pool and the hot tub - a definite highlight for him. We found the property overall to be very kid-friendly. There’s a library room upstairs full of books and games (we played jenga) and he practically inhaled the tasty chicken fingers and fries at the pub.

Just all around a perfect stay at The Post. If you ever find yourself in need of a mountain escape that's equal parts cozy and soul-soothing, this place is it.
