Valentine’s Photo Wall
I love the way I can change up the pictures and prints on my wall and sprinkle some sugary love vibes into our space.
I started with these shelves from Rona. They were pretty easy to install, just needed to do some measuring and leveling but I like the way they look on this white wall. The hardest part was deciding how much space to leave between the shelves and the cabinet. I opted to divide the space into equal thirds, so there’s room on each shelf, plus some on the cabinet if I want to stand up some frames there.
I really love the look of layering different frames and pieces on the shelves. Some of the frames I’ve had for ages, some I just ordered from Amazon. I find it easier to make a collage and layer the pieces if the frames are thinner. These white ones were thin and light enough (which I like) but they definitely feel like they’re on the cheaper side - no glass, just plastic to protect the photo or art piece, and the frame had cracks in the corners (you get what you pay for). Honestly, I don’t really mind the plastic or the cracks in the frame once they’re up on the wall, I can barely tell.
The black square frame also came from Amazon, and I felt like it had slightly better quality, but was still thin and light.
For the pieces, I started with some larger B&W photos of Mike and I, added in paintings that my son and I did last week, and then topped it off with some other prints I created. I love the way it turned out!
